AM Baker / Pastry Prep – The Huntōn Location: Leesburg, VA Opening August 2025 The Huntōn , a luxury boutique hotel and fine dining destination opening in August 2025, is setting a new culinary standard in Virginia’s hunt country. Known for its elegant restraint, world-class sourcing, and storytelling through food, The Huntōn is assembling a talented pastry team — and we are currently hiring AM Bakers / Pastry Prep Cooks to join our opening brigade. About the Role: As an AM Baker or Pastry Prep Cook, you will help create the foundational pastry and bakery components that support breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner service . This includes everything from viennoiserie and breakfast pastries to tart shells, laminated doughs, ice creams, and garnishes. You’ll be working early shifts in a focused, clean environment — contributing to a pastry program that emphasizes seasonality, precision, and subtle luxury. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and execute pastry mise en place, following detailed prep lists and recipes Bake and finish breakfast pastries, muffins, scones, and laminated items (as applicable) Scale, mix, and portion doughs and batters for cakes, cookies, tarts, and plated desserts Assist in maintaining par levels for service and daily production Label, store, and rotate ingredients and prepped items according to safety standards Maintain pastry station cleanliness and assist with deep cleaning as needed Who You Are: You love working early and have a strong sense of personal discipline and timing You have a passion for pastry, baking, and quiet craftsmanship You value cleanliness, precision, and efficiency in everything you do You take direction well and contribute positively to a high-performance team You’re detail-oriented and take pride in the final look and texture of every component Requirements: ~1+ years’ experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or production role preferred ~ Solid knowledge of pastry fundamentals: scaling, mixing, proofing, baking ~ Comfortable working independently and on a timeline ~ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on your feet, and meet early morning shift requirements ~ Must be available for early mornings, weekends, and holidays ~ Reliable transportation to Leesburg, VA What We Offer: Competitive hourly pay and the opportunity to grow into plated pastry or leadership roles A clean, structured, and respectful work environment with modern pastry equipment Training and mentorship under an ambitious, Michelin-minded team Hotel employee benefits, team meals, and a beautiful brand-new workspace A pastry culture that celebrates quiet excellence, creativity, and consistency Craft the details that make memories.
