Job Summary:

The Buyer will be responsible for managing replenishment planning, ensuring materials are ordered accurately and on time to meet production demands while maintaining optimal inventory levels. This position requires close collaboration with Planning, Quality, Production, Regulatory, and Finance teams. You will play a key role in supporting cost-saving initiatives, maintaining ERP data integrity, and ensuring compliance with stringent food safety standards. Ideal candidates will have experience in food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure materials and services in alignment with production schedules and company policies.
  • Manage replenishment planning for assigned materials, utilizing forecast data, usage trends, and lead times to determine optimal order quantities and timing.
  • Issue purchase orders and manage confirmations, delivery schedules, and invoicing.
  • Monitor supplier performance , resolve supply and quality issues, and escalate when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Quality, Production, Regulatory, and Finance teams to ensure cross-functional alignment .
  • Maintain accurate master data in the ERP system (pricing, lead times, MOQ, safety stock levels, etc.).
  • Analyze inventory levels regularly to prevent shortages and minimize excess or obsolete stock.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and participate in supplier negotiations.
  • Track and report key procurement and replenishment metrics (on-time delivery, inventory turns, cost savings, etc.).
  • Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and risks.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards in all procurement activities.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of buying or procurement experience, preferably in food manufacturing or CPG .
  • Experience with ERP systems .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills .
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities .
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety and GMP regulations a plus.
