Job Description

McLean Contracting Company is seeking a CMMS/PM Parts Coordinator to join our team in the Baltimore, MD region. The CMMS/ PM Parts Coordinator supports the company-wide equipment team. Primary responsibilities will be for the administration of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This includes but is not limited to establishing workflows to build the asset database efficiently and accurately as well as continuous improvement and maintenance of the asset database. Additional responsibilities will include the procurement and organization of maintenance parts and producing department metrics periodically. The role is highly integrated with the daily functions of the equipment supervisory team and requires excellent teamwork.

Essential Duties

  • Works in tandem with the Equipment Director and other equipment supervisors to build/ maintain accurate asset information in the ERP/CMMS systems.
  • Interpret OEM maintenance cycle recommendations and construct meaningful preventative maintenance cycles in the CMMS using best management practices and industry standards.
  • Develop OEM preventative maintenance parts lists by individual maintenance cycle and add them to the appropriate cycles. Build these parts in the inventory system and set appropriate stocking levels based upon historic availability, vendor turn-around time, and usage turnover.
  • Order, receive and stock pm parts at respective inventory locations with an emphasis on obtaining the best value for Mclean in price negotiations with vendors.
  • Review maintenance work orders for proper completion, maintenance parts issuing and costs. Close out work orders when appropriate.
  • Understand lubrication fluid and coolant specifications. Detail appropriate fluid on maintenance cycles and assist with labeling fluid compartments with appropriate company product.
  • Assist with conducting periodic inventory counts. Audit bulk lubricant transfers.
  • Work collaboratively with other purchasing staff to streamline the processes and continuously seek out efficiencies.
  • Be the company champion for eliminating fluid contamination in shops and jobsites. Promote proper fluid storage, correct deficiencies. Develop best management practices for the company.
  • Troubleshoots and expedites issue resolution and sourcing decisions to minimize delays to the equipment project duration.
  • Manages the fluid sampling program. Collects samples from performed maintenance, send the samples to the appropriate testing laboratories, reviews results, and reports issues to the equipment supervisory team.
  • Monitors Maintenance trends and makes recommendations for improvements and efficiency with a goal to become predictive on timing of major rebuilds and replacements of major components.
  • Participates in failure analysis on unscheduled repairs. Review failure events for maintenance shortcomings, and adjust cycles as needed. Reports findings to the team and projects.
  • Assists with timely repair parts sourcing and procurement.
  • Continuously develops and expands vendor options, company-wide.
  • Monitor and maintain all telematic data sources. Request repairs to hardware with appropriate equipment supervisor. Champion expansion of telematic program. Prioritize and report asset trouble codes to appropriate equipment supervisor.
  • Participates in weekly equipment/operations meetings to help define repair priorities and scheduling impacts.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and additional technical training, five plus (5+) years of related experience, and a comprehensive knowledge of heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance requirements, parts purchasing, inventory control and work order administration. Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as HCSS Equipment 360 is preferred. Must have strong mechanical knowledge and be familiar with on-line major OEM dealer parts ordering websites.

Other skills and abilities

Must be at least 21 years old, have reliable transportation to work, possess a valid driver’s license, ability to pass all applicable pre-employment requirements, ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card, possess a Motor Vehicle Administration record that will permit operation of a McLean Contracting Company Vehicle and able to pass a physical/drug screen.

Must be able to pass a Homeland Security background check to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
