The Department of Radiology is currently seeking a full time MRI Technologist to work at the UHealth Applebaum Imaging Center in Miami. The MRI Technologist Level I is responsible for performing complex procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) through the operations of the MRI equipment to obtain the highest quality of diagnostic images. Independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative are essential to identify and compensate for imaging artifacts and evaluate image quality by troubleshooting scanner or coil problems and scan parameters. Core job functions include obtaining and examining MRI scan orders, ensuring appropriateness of orders, verifying patient ID, obtaining consents and education, performing complex specialized tasks with MRI scanners under radiologist supervision, integrating diagnostic and patient history information, adhering to MRI protocols, assisting in patient positioning, maintaining aseptic technique, assisting radiologists with imaging procedures including IVs and contrast injections, evaluating MRI scan quality, transmitting images to PACS, and adhering to regulatory guidelines. The role also involves assisting with day-to-day department operations and following university policies. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging Program, Florida state license as a General Radiographer, CPR and BLS certification, ARRT registration and certification in primary modality within one year of hire, and a minimum of 1 year relevant experience. Skills required include attention to detail, ability to prioritize work under pressure, confidentiality, flexibility to work evenings/nights/weekends, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
