Position:

Oracle Database Administrator

Description:

We seek an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support for critical production environments as needed.

Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining Oracle databases (versions 12c, 19c, etc.), monitoring database performance and implementing changes and patches as required, performing database tuning and optimization (queries, indexing, etc.), ensuring database security, integrity, stability, and system availability, and backup and recovery planning and implementation using RMAN or other tools.

Additionally, the role involves automating routine tasks and improving operational efficiency using scripts (PL/SQL, Shell, Python, etc.), working closely with development teams to optimize database interactions, performing capacity planning and supporting database migration projects, and providing 24/7 support for critical production systems.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

10+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in a production environment.

Strong experience with Oracle 12c, 19c, Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM.

Proficiency in PL/SQL and performance tuning.

Experience with backup and recovery procedures using RMAN.

Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Unix/Linux environments.

Experience with other RDBMS systems (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is a plus.

Preferred: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.

Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or AWS RDS for Oracle.

Exposure to DevOps tools and CI.
