Job Description

Serve food and beverage items in a knowledgeable, friendly and helpful manner to all guests. Responsibilities include greeting all guests at table, responding to guest inquiries regarding menu, wine list, Music Hall, informing guests of daily specials and making recommendations, suggestively selling menu items, beverages, desserts, anticipating and responding to guest needs, responding to guest concerns/complaints regarding food or service and correcting errors or resolving complaints with a friendly, positive attitude, organizing and prioritizing service per appropriate service sequence, taking menu, beverage and bar orders from guests and communicating orders to kitchen and/or bar through micros terminal, checking food orders prior to serving to ensure that they are correct, properly presented, and that special requests have been met, delivering food and beverages to table, performing opening/running/closing duties according to HOB policy, maintaining line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through work area throughout shift, memorizing menus and daily specials, pre-busing tables, cleaning spills on tables or around work area, maintaining HOB safety and sanitation standards, preparing guest checks (on micros terminal) and checking for accuracy, receiving payment and processing cash, credit card or traveler’s check transactions, having knowledge of all music, promotional or special events in the house, assisting other servers or other employees as needed, and occasionally working Special Events that are scheduled throughout the venue. Qualifications required include State of Nevada Food Handler Certification & Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent, 2-5 years high volume experience in restaurant operations, working knowledge of high volume restaurant operations and safe, responsible alcohol service, standard food preparation/presentation, skill in guest relations, wine & liquor knowledge, ability to handle multiple tables at one time efficiently and with an upbeat, friendly attitude, and a High School Diploma. Preferred qualifications include Point of Sales knowledge, preferably MICROS. Physical demands include working in a fast-paced, often loud and stressful environment, extended periods of prolonged standing and working on feet, and ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
