Job Description

Position Description: Camp Old Indian is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to serve on our Climbing and Rappelling tower and Whitewater rafting experience. This role offers a unique opportunity to inspire and mentor youth while engaging in exciting outdoor adventures. Responsibilities:

• Lead and instruct climbing and rappelling activities at the tower
• Guide and oversee whitewater rafting excursions
• Ensure the safety of all participants through strict adherence to safety protocols
• Provide positive role modeling and mentorship to youth participants
• Facilitate team-building exercises and foster a cooperative environment
• Conduct pre-activity briefings and post-activity debriefings to enhance learning experiences
• Maintain equipment and ensure its proper use during activities
• Commission a Scout troop on a daily basis
• perform necessary cleaning tasks as part of a patrol (small group) on a daily basis
• guide troops during the check-in process
• assist troops in the check-out process
• Other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Program Director

• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Leadership experience with demonstrated ability to manage groups effectively
• Experience in team building and youth development
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse groups
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
• A commitment to Scouting values and principles

• Previous experience as a camp counselor or instructor
• Knowledge of climbing, rappelling, and whitewater rafting techniques and safety measures
• Certifications in CPR, First Aid, or lifeguarding
• Participation in scouting or similar youth development programs
